“Little Corn and Princess”
Grown-up Chen commissioned this painting for her best friend in Taiwan. The two girls grew up together and have been best friends since childhood, but they now live on opposite sides of the world. They aren’t able to see each other very often now, but whenever they do get together they always bring their childhood doll and teddy bear for a reunion, too. Chen wanted a painting of their favorite toys together, to show her best friend that time and distance will never affect their lifelong friendship. How sweet, right? Not to mention, anyone who names a doll “Little Corn” is definitely OK in my book.
